Career Coaching Community of Practice – Understanding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Career Coaching
Join the ICF Career Coaching Community of Practice, Shalyma Cambridge and Shelley-Anne Vidal on October 17, 2022, from 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. EST (New York) for a session on understanding diversity, equity, and inclusion in career coaching. The presenters will review terminology, concepts and a case study related to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) to using the lens of Career Interventions for BIPOC Communities in West Coast Turtle Island. Participants will have an opportunity to apply EDI to a career coaching context and explore the ways in which, identity, privilege and discrimination can impact both expectations and outcomes when it comes to career exploration and development. They will share their journey to create a career development program that addresses the unique challenges that they both experienced as Black women navigating careers and workspaces within Canada as well as the continued barriers they observed within their community. Through this session, there will be opportunities to discuss how applying a decolonialized lens and interventions can provide an inclusive approach to your career coaching practice.
*This session has been tentatively approved for 1 CCE unit in Core Competency and 0.5 CCE Units in Resource Development.
